Winter Solstice
It ’s always a alleviation to make love that even as the days get colder they wo n’t get any darker and we will step by step get a bit more good afternoon back . This is a disconsolate clock time for gardeners when everything look dank and decaying in the garden and we involve a bite of cheering up . And for all of us it is going to be difficult to negotiate Christmas , as once again the pandemic furor . Like many other multitude , we have had to invalidate Christmas as The Pianist has Covid . But we are favourable , because thanks to the double inoculation plus the booster , he only has it gently . confederacy theorist may believe that he has had micro chips implanted by Bill Gates and his DNA has been interfered with . I have n’t checked out all the moonstruck theories , so for all I know he will probably be expected to turn into a giant lizard in three calendar month . But we trust in scientific discipline and we are very thankful for the vaccine .
In the dining room , I have dress the Christmas tree and made a table organization and every day I sit down in solitary splendour eating my dinner , which revulsion of horror I have to cook , because as well as being a Pianist he is also our chef and commonly cooks all our meals . And they are always delicious . He is now confine to the depository library during the day and bugger off his meals on trays . It does feel unmatched go along him in the other end of the house and disbursement day apart , but so far I have n’t catch it so I think it is deserving it .
But outside , I do have something to cheer me up . I call back I had lose my littleNarcissus minor‘Cedric Morris ’ because they are very susceptible to Narcissus fly and the shoots were veil by leaves . But here they are in all the aureole bringing little dabs of sunshine into the garden and into my heart . They can usually be rely upon to bloom for Christmas and they have n’t let me down this class . These fiddling daffodils are difficult to find and always expensive . But they are worth every cent . I have write about their history before and you’re able to record ithere .

Every year on Christmas Eve I break up as many different flowers as potential for the table and it is always interesting to find how the flower reckoning diverge from class to year . So I shall be back on Friday to partake in my Christmas flowers with you .

Oh , that is exciting about the daffodils ! We have no flowers here for month because of our grave winters . But regarding the lengthening of the days … yes , that is unquestionably something to look forward to . Also , I laugh out loud read the start of your post ( although I do hope the piano player recovers apace ) .
I ’m good-for-naught to hear that the Pianist got caught by COVID . Dr Fauci , the US expert maligned to Trump toady , has inculpate that it ’s likely few will be able to hem in it , given its high - speeding transmissibility . Yesterday my married man and I ( also fully vaccinated and boosted ) talk over how we ’d isolate from one another if necessary . And I confront the same job with respect to meals if he ’s the one that gets sick so I can sympathise with your quandary . I hope you remain symptom - free and the Pianist / Chef recovers promptly . Thank goodness we have our garden !
P.S. lounge lizard love the warmth of coastal Southern California so perhaps you might turn over moving . You could grow all the succulents you ’d like here .

I hope that the Pianist makes a speedy recovery Chloris and is soon back in full fettle in his kitchen demesne . Will keep my fingers cut across that you get by to stay salubrious . Glad to read that your ‘ Cedric Morris ’ has come through . Mine has just open in the last week or so – some time after than last year . As you say they are definitely deserving every cent for the vast lift they give you 😂
