The tight bud on the other Chestnut tree .
Some wight has been attacking the buds and here they are lying on the solid ground . I have never comment this sorting of damage before .
Ah , I think I have found the perpetrator , he left his career card . We are overflow with fat pigeons , nosily pursuing their sexual love matter all over the garden .

Next month the Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree will be at its good and I trust to be able to show you the beautiful flowers or candles as they are call .
Whilst walking down the garden to shoot the Horse Chestnut tree diagram , my heart was get by the rug ofPulmonariaor Lungwort . As both Horse Chestnuts and Lungworts were thought to cure chest complaints ; the first in people , the second in horses , I cerebrate I would combine the two in on post . OK , it is a tenuous link but I ca n’t happen many myths or literary references about theAesculustree so now and then I will have to wander , or kowtow the barrel to get a data link . Otherwise the posts will be like a children ’s reading book . HERE IS THE Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree . LOOK . SEE THE LEAVES . CAN YOU SEE THE LEAVES ? THE leave of absence ARE ON THE TREE .
Like many citizenry I started off with named varieties of Pulmonarias but they are notoriously promiscuous and seminal fluid round in all different colours . For this understanding there are perhaps too many named varieties , all calculate very standardized . I care the early- floweringPulmonaria rubrawith brick - red flowers . I ordinarily carefully remove the leave of the Epimediums so that the flowers show up but I have left it a bit late on this one develop in front of thePulmonaria .

Pulmonaria rubra
‘ Rubra ’ has plain leaves but you may get one with heavy spotted farewell and carmine flower calledPulmonaria saccharata‘Leopard ’ . I retrieve it looks good matching the red bricks of my wall .

I also savor the beautifully , distinctive white one calledPulmonaria‘Sissinghurst White ’ .
The 2nd icon was taken last twelvemonth with theNarcissus‘Mount Hood ‘ in full prime , they are not quite out yet . I also be intimate the pure bluePulmonariawith plain light-green leaves calledPulmonaria‘Blue Ensign ’

The great think about Pulmonarias is how they look so unspoiled with other Spring flowers . I love this next one uprise with dwarf tulip . They also depend good with small yellow daffodil . I love it with the spidery head of ‘ Rip Van Winkle ’ .

Your harm might be squirrel . One year I observe a squirrel pick a Chestnut blossom bud , he then peeled back the sepal as if it was a banana , use up the blossom and threw the quietus down on the ground ! You have some really beautiful pulmonarias , I wish Sissinghurst White too , it is so different .
I love when the tree start to leaf out … .Lungworts are wonderful as a carpet….and I have it off learning about the employment of both the Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree and the lungwort cure chest complaint .
I seem to recall read that horse chestnuts can be toxic . If true , maybe you may unveil the ways the industrial plant were used / abuse for malicious design . Pulmonaria fix a lovely companion for a broad range of plant life – I wish I could grow it .

I also think that squirrels could be the perpetrator Chloris but then I blame them for every mishap 🙂 I noticed the embryonic taper on our nearest chestnut tree last week and no doubt the candles will be glowing in May . I have made a note of your narcissus ‘ Mount Hood ’ which take care quite striking . I bought pulmonaria rubra ‘ Rachel Vernie ’ recently which I think you would like – the foliage is a most attractive soft grey green . I ’m not sure yet whether it will flower as early as the average rubra yet .
