The gardens at the Harvest Inn in Napa

Today ’s photo are from Jan Meissner . We ’ve featured Jan ’s garden in both Ohio and Florida in the past times ( HERE , HERE , HERE , andHERE ) . Jan sure knows her gardens ! Today she ’s sharing a garden destination – theHarvest Innin the Napa Valley in California .

Jan says,“TheHarvest Innis right on main street in interfering St. Helena , California . Behind the inn is a vinery and beyond the vineyard the Mayacamas mountains .

“ The gardens are the verbatim result of the Landscaping Director , Brandon Augustine . I took all these pic last fall when my hubby and I stayed there and Brandon gave me a circuit . He manages these 8 Acre of gardens with just a handful of staff .

“ stand of redwood are the soul of the garden . In their shadows grow rhododendron , azaleas , and tasmania Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree ferns . He lean espaliered orchard apple tree and pear trees , and unnumbered rosebush . Agapanthus and scores of perennials line the paths .

He weld metallic element trellises against the wall of two of the buildings , and wired them to stick out blue and blanched wisteria . He is training his stave to snip them so when they bloom , the flowers drip from each intersection of the conducting wire . I only wish I was there to see that . ”
