Every 4 to 6 years the international flowered couturier community has a major design competition , namely , The FTD World Cup … The “ Olympics ” of the Floral Design World . This year it was held during the Philadelphia Flower show ( March 1 - 3 ) and Ball Horticultural company was a patron for the World Cup 2019 ; they were one of the key flower supplier of fresh cut flowers . But how is it to participate in such an event as a stock breeder ?
" Being in the breeder world is like being in love , I just had eyes for my flowers ! " , says BallSB Marketing Director Lourdes Reyes .

There were four timed figure tasks which were completed by the 23 fashion designer that were compete : 1.- A hand tied corsage , 2.- an architectural arrangement , 3.- a table for two and 4.- one surprise invention job have all American Grown flowers . For this last task the designers had identical materials , provision , prop and bloom . " Ball , Snapdragons , Anemones , Green Ball and Stock Katz were part of the flowers in the surprise kit . "
So , how was it to look the competition ? Neruda explains : " It was amazing to see how everyone ’s design looked so very different even though the materials were exactly the same . "

The 10 semi - finalist were : Australia , Japan , Russia , Korea , Italy , Germany , Czech Republic , Hungary , Finland and China .
