Six on Saturday. In the Conservatory.

With tempest Darragh rampaging his direction through the country I do n’t suppose there are many multitude fearless enough to guess out to see if there is anything left in the garden to share this Saturday .

I am staying within to act in my conservatoire where most of my tender plants are shelter . In the pastime of economy , I have discontinue heating the glasshouse and on nippy nights my nerines and other treasures have to creep under last drape which I buy chintzily at a Greek valerian shop . So far they are fine but if it gets really cold they might need a eiderdown or something .

My conservatory is a seemly size at 6 megabyte x 4 m which I opine is about 20 ft x13 ft , although I am a piece rust in Imperial measuring . I was dismayed to find when I lend my succulents in that I have over 100 of them . I do n’t know how this occur but I definitely think it is not my fault . My niece , Debbie is the absolute Queen of the succulent and she always lend carload of them whenever she comes up from Cornwall . What am I say to do ? My succulent aggregation takes all the window sill and the level too , I am afraid . In the corner you could see how I hang epiphyllums on a hatstand to save place as they are so leggy .

In the light-green man head and on the trading floor are mangaves .

look the other mode , there is a Medjool date palm tree grown from a pip and next to itBegonia luxurienswhich as it fall from the rain forests of Brazil it ca n’t bide alfresco for the winter . In the potBegonia‘Gryphon is n’t sturdy either . I keep some of my horticulture books in here and as I have nigh 400 gardening books I have to keep some in boxes and rotate them . They are not take into account to clutter up the Christian Bible cases in the family as these are for script of interest to both of us . The Pianist keeps his euphony Holy Scripture in his music elbow room so it ’s sightly enough . This is where I have my morning coffee .

If we hold on round of golf the corner there isSolandra maximawith big glossy leaves which I bought several class ago in a second of folly . It was flyspeck when I bought it but it grows to 12 cadence so I have n’t really got elbow room for it And it is very poisonous . .I insure one blooming in Martinique with the most enormous loving cup - influence white-livered flower and so I had to buy one , even though I have n’t got the room for it to do its thing . In the corner is a plumbago which will also grow big if I let it . The picture is Mr. Pip chirp through the solandra . Sadly , he is no longer with us .

So coming around past the room access into the living way we have a plantstand which is rather laden with plants .

The flora on the left top corner is mySelinicereus grandiflorus‘Queen of the Night ’ which has a bud on it so we will be coming back to appear at that in the next few calendar week .

If we expect on past here we do to the door of the Pianist ’s euphony elbow room . alas he has to bring all his gear through the hothouse when he has a gig which is always a fraught moment for both of us .

Now permit ’s see what ’s on the table . I always like to have something in bud or flower here . At the here and now , there are amaryllis , hyacinths , cyclamen and narcissus amongst other things .

I could n’t resist a new physical body ofCyclamen persicumwhich was unknown but I thought very pretty .

And now we have a view take care back from the music room niche .

Wow , what a collection you have in your hothouse … extraordinary !

You have some beauties there – both the blooms and all the other amazing plants ! Your conservatory seems similar in size to my sunroom , where I store some plants during the wintertime . This Emily Price Post is encourage me to potentially overwinter more in the sunroom . 😉 It is fantastic to have that type of elbow room , for so many reason , is n’t it ? !
