As I write this week ’s Sunday Farm update – I am wondering in retrospect about the sanity of essay to finish an integral dining room remodel in a 36 - 60 minutes period .
The dining room as it looked Friday before the undertaking began – one-time rug and all .
Actually , at this point there is no wonderment at all for myself or Mary . In fact , our unfitness to move a single muscle without bother this morning raise that it is indeed utterly insane ! 🙂

The dining room as it looked Friday before the project began – old carpet and all.
As we continue to plan out the newfangled house at the farm – one of the big challenges is finding time to prepare our current home for sale .
Our current house has served us well – specially since it is located just a few miles from the mellow school . But with two kid already in college and the two remaining nearing graduation – we are getting penny-pinching to the concluding destination of selling our suburban home and build up our final home at the farm – and that means catch our house quick for sales event .
After ripping up the carpet and padding , it was on to take out the 2000 staples in the floor !

After ripping up the carpet and padding, it was on to removing the 2000 staples in the floor!
Last year it was putting on a new roof and painting – this year , it has been replacing tempest threshold , porch doors , screen door – and yes – this weekend ’s project of updating the dining room with a woods floor , trim and a fresh pelage of blusher .
The dining room is one of those areas of the house that we seldom use – and a groovy ground why we will not have one in the new planetary house . What it really has become is a storage area – domiciliate our wine single-foot , canning cabinet and a very under - used farm table . Because of its lack of habit – it has also for the most part remained untouched , include the original rug that was there at move in – it was time to update !
With the walls all painted and the new cushioning down , the base went down quickly

Much like any project we tackle at the farm – we decide to make the best of it by having a lilliputian merriment . In this case – setting a small goal to make out it together by Saturday night .
And so “ Project Dining Room ” began early Friday even – first by proceed out the 300 pint and quart jars that fill our canning cabinet , along with every bottle of wine in the wine rack . I have to allow after that exhausting task – I was quick to set a new finish of perhaps just regard if we could drink the wine ! We finished off Friday evening by rend up the carpet , padding and 2000 staples from the bomber - level – and stumbled to bed .
The ruined floor with just the trim to finish .

The finished floor with just the trim to finish.
I have to say that Saturday morning came way too presently – but with the Saturday night goal in intellect , we got after it by paint the home walls and laying the new cushioning by former morning .
Next came set down the stressed hickory floor – which in world ended up being the easiest part of the intact project . We finished it all off in the other evening by blast in the last piece of trimming – and undertaking “ Dining Room ” was in the Koran .
All in all – the project went surprisingly bland . By the evening ’s end – we even had the wine-coloured rack back in place and fill up – well , minus perhaps a bottle or two :) .

The wine rack back in place in the finished room!
The wine rack back in spot in the finished room !
The full news – the project is complete ! The defective news – a undivided movement to the odd or right this morning by either of us seems to cause exigent cramping of muscles we were incognizant we even possessed !
Happy Resting ! Jim and Mary
