Big pots help deal with black walnut roots
Welcome to Margherita Fabrizio ’s garden in , Ithaca , New York .
Hello from Central New York State , where this gloriousdahliahas been blossom since about mid - August .
I have in reality grown it in a large pot for 10 years . Idig it upeach lessen , clean it off , and package it up for the winter . Despite being in plastic and in a water closet , when I take it out in late April or former May , it has shoots . How does it experience to do this while sleeping in a loo ?

Other standouts for me this year let in the annualPlectranthusargentatus‘Quicksilver ’ . I adore this plant . While it was slow to get bulge , once established it was fairlydrought resistantand thrive .
The florescence kale ‘ Peacock Red’(Brassicaoleracea‘Peacock blood-red ’ , annual ) has been a delight all season , even before it started turning this amazing color .
I should also mention that the blooming of the agapanthus(Agapanthushybrid , Zones 8–10 ) is plausibly the most hoped-for result of the season , next to the dahlia . Its buds magically seem out of nowhere a day after they were absolutely not seeable . And the color is remarkable !

I have been garden for 12 year at this site and for 25 years before that at a much little holding . Most of thestone wallson the property were built sometime soon after 1918 when the theatre was built . My husband rebuilt one shortly after we bought the property . He also built the Harlan Fisk Stone terraces , new paths , and brick decking around the pool , which was a formal garden until the 1960s .
There is a very largeblack walnuton the adjacent property , so I am restricted in many ways about what I can grow . I also have very little that gets full Dominicus . But I enjoy having the large pots . As long as you prey them well , they really can do all time of year .
