In my new video demonstration , I sharehow I make homemade fish fertilizer :
Fish photographic emulsion , or “ Pisces fertilizer , ” is an organic plant fertiliser made from Pisces the Fishes . It ’s rich in minerals and makes plant leaves green and glistening , while also providing skilful nutrition for stem and fruit growth . It is sold at Home Depot , Lowes and , of course , on Amazon .
If you ’d rather save some hard currency , however , you could make a good fish fertilizer at home with the method acting I share in my video .

Though it smells terrible at first , the odor settles down over time and it becomes a wonderful homemade fertilizer that costs very footling . Just seize some fish or fish sand , and/or crabs , clams , or other drained ocean animals , cast off them in a scum can of water , tally some molasses , then stir and cover for a few months . Solid gold ! Since I had a caboodle of nasty crabs , I threw them in – but you may do this with just fish and it works great .
Heck , you could probably make chicken emulsion and your plants would love it , but one has to pull the personal credit line somewhere .
I ’m not convinced the molasses is really necessary , but it does feast the bacterium which I ’m certain is a good thing .

After a few months of let your Pisces fertilizer rot down , you may thin it out with weewee and use it on your landscaping , orchards and gardens . I unremarkably stir the mix when I remember , but that in all probability is n’t necessary either . When you get to the bottom of the barrel , you may throw whatever is go forth on your compost cumulus .
Actually , I ’ll bet soaking your compost with some of this stuff and nonsense would really kick it up .
So here it is in three steps :

Homemade Fish Emulsion Step 1: Add Crabs/Fish/Dead Sea Animals
meet a barrel half - full of water , then add your sea fauna .
I tossed these crabs into my Pisces the Fishes plant food :
And these nasty fish grit :

Homemade Fish Emulsion Step 2: Add Molasses
I just buy a cheap bottle and stream it in .
They deal “ farm animal molasses ” in the states at feed stores – I used to apply that for all my fermentation .
Homemade Fish Emulsion Step 3: Stir it up and wait!
Look at them swimming around !
After a few months , most everything breaks down and your fertilizer is ready . you could tell , because it does n’t sense nearly as risky . I suppose you could speed things up by hitting it with a submersible blender . That said , my wife would not appreciate me borrowing kitchen appliances for something so nasty . Your mileage may variegate .
Once your homemade fish emulsion rots down , melt off out 5 or 6 part water to one part emulsion – unless you had a caboodle of water in the barrel to begin with – then irrigate your plant with it . They love it !

Give it a try and lease me be intimate how it works for you .
take note : keep the barrel well - covered at the beginning . Vultures love the smelling of this stuff and nonsense .
( Finally , do n’t forget topre - order my fresh Scripture and start arrive at hard currency from your love life of plants ! )
