I was elated to be able to make the short trip from Vancouver to Seattle to serve theNorthwest Flower and Garden Showthis year . I was excited for the chance to fit some of my favourite garden authors , buy some fabulous goodies , and just get inspired .
And barrack I was . The show was tremendous , with a floor of demonstration gardens , multiple trafficker markets , a container garden completion , and an endless stream of large Speaker . I really could n’t have involve for anything more . I ’m proud to live on this mythic West Coast ( even the chillier Canadian part ) where there is a thick love and esteem for gardens . Here are a few highlight that I accept away from the show that I ca n’t avail but part .
Spring is in the Air

The first matter that greet me upon comer was the sweet aroma in the zephyr . I mean the seat just smack with aroma , but in a good way of life . In the way that says , “ Hey Winter , approximate what ? Yeah , that ’s correct , it ’s me Spring and I ’m just around the niche ! ”
Tulips and crocus and hellebore and narcissus and hyacinth and iris and more and more and more ! I ’m not certain that I have ever been in a place with so many spring flowers together except , of track , when see the tulip farm .
Intriguing Containers

The container garden completion was certainly one of my favourites of the day . No matter how many times I went back , I would find yet another jewel that I had n’t noticed before .
This piddling piggy want succulent .
A dearie of mine , the lion outflow plantation owner with lime green , smutty , and orange on show .

Well , at least this keeps the periwinkle from taking over the garden … as long as she fuck off regular haircuts .
Artisan deoxyephedrine was everywhere at the show … a PNW staple .
The Marie Antoinette Mini Garden fromTwo Green Thumbs Miniature Garden Centerwas absolutely thoroughgoing . It wait like a dead landscaped yard but all in a small 3’x3 ’ spot !

Lawn - less landscape
I was happy to see that there was just one landscape painting design with a lawn . The rest used originative lawn substitution from full on plantings to hardscape solutions .
company lovers can light up the Nox with disco music - inspire lighted patio Harlan F. Stone …

… .or perhaps a a south westerly theme of crushed rock and smoke is more your way …
… or riverstones interplanted with flowering bulbs make this landscape painting welcoming , even if the skull head says “ ride out away ! ” .
Water Features Galore

While this is n’t all that new , there did n’t seem to be many garden WITHOUT a water feature .
Rustic rocks , …
… implant troughs , …

… with child container , …
… concrete leaf , …
… and even a waterfall which the taxidermy pheasant seems to be enjoy .

Vintage and Recycled
This was the first year there was a Vintage Market at the show . alas is was wayyyy at the back where I would have miss it if I did n’t happen by the area to get my customs documents processed . While I was happy I get the chance to shop it , my camera was nowhere in sight . Monica Hart from La Famiglia Design pay back fabulous photosthough so have a snoop through them .
I was able to capture a few of the gem around the other parts of the garden though . Like these from the container displays .

Epiphite Delight
I heard that last year terrariums were all the furor , ca-ca air plants one of the more democratic plants . This class it seemed that the epiphyte had ditched the crank and hang out in all sort of different ways .
I ’ve covered only a fraction of what the show had to offer , but these were the melodic theme that really spoke to me . I saw many of the labor that I have on my DIY list and gather a whole lot more . While my acquaintance and fellowship are bracing blow in the east , I can don some safe pelting gear and get crack in the garden . Thank goodness for the mild West Coast atmospheric condition as I have a lot to get commence on !
