Mixing edibles and ornamentals with style
I ’m Heather Jones , proprietor ofSit a Spell Nursery & Landscape Design LLCand we are locate in Saint George , South Carolina . This is my backyard entrance to our fire fossa area . I have tea plants , hydrangeas , fern , rose , mahonia , andliriopein the photo . I ’ve been gardening my whole biography but during COVID I travel back to college to get my degree in gardening . I have a passion for edible landscape gardening ruffle in with ornamentals and you ’ll often find that in different areas of my property .
A rarefied spot to enjoy the smell of Heather ’s fragrant planting while look out tiddler and/or pets running play and bring in the lawn that wall . Stepping stones lead you through the arbor and to the perfumed congregating dapple , while a Brobdingnagian Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree provides the gross spectre to escape the heat of summer in South Carolina .

Every autumn there is one unique dawning when my Chicago backyard dazzles in Ne Au . It happened today , the peak of luminousness . Enjoy .

When your outer space is limited , like when your garden is site in a major city , have just one or two plants that put out a particularly vibrant drop display can be enough to dead occupy your space with color . From these picture , it wait like that is the case for Jane in regard to this marvelous maple in fall .

Luminous is exactly the word the describe this glowing foliage . What a charming instant to see the sun shining through these atomic number 10 leaves , both up near and from a distance ! If only this magic colour was n’t so momentary .
A tropical slice of late summer
The next pic come in from Sheila Rowan . While Sheila did not remark where her garden is place , my guess would be Florida or some other tropical locus . From the marvelous medal to the various luxuriant vine , it look like Sheila has a topical rainforest right outside her windowpane .

A favorite spot to admire the garden
finally , we have a special garden blot sent in by Catherine Arcolio .
I want to share with you a small part of my Mother ’s garden . I tend it for her now that she is in her 90 ’s . This photograph is her view from her pet inside reading material spot . She hold out on the New Hampshire side of in the Connecticut River Valley , winters in the Northeast are prospicient and weary making so we anticipate and recognize spring with special affection and relief .
I design and lean gardens for a select fistful of client , so I pass springiness through fall outside . For the past 12 or so year I have been documenting garden and nature with a photo and a micro poem every mean solar day . The title and verse form for this image is :
